Free Marriage Biodata Generator
Fill it in and download a readable PDF or PNG images — free, no sign-up. Keep it as a MatchMan profile afterwards if you want to; the details carry over.
Use this free marriage biodata generator to make a clean, print-ready biodata for marriage and download it as a PDF or PNG images — no sign-up and no watermark. It follows the standard marriage biodata format families expect, works the same for a girl and a boy, and fills in one step at a time — so it is easy for everyone, including parents and grandparents making one on a phone.
Add a photo
0 / 6A clear, recent, front-facing photo. It is the first thing families look at — but you can add it now or skip and come back.
What your marriage biodata will look like
A typeset PDF of no more than two pages — personal details, community, education and career, family, a few lines about yourself, and a clear photo. Here is a sample:
What belongs in a marriage biodata
Personal details
Name, date of birth, height and marital status are the minimum. Add place of birth if horoscopes will be matched, and leave it out if they will not — a field nobody will use is a field that invites questions.
Community
Religion, caste or community, sub-community, gothra and mother tongue. Families read this section first, so get the spellings right; a mis-spelled gothra invites a phone call rather than a proposal.
Education and work
Highest qualification, where you studied, what you do, and where. Income is conventional in Indian biodata but never obligatory, and a range is enough — see the question about salary below.
Family
Parents' names and occupations, brothers and sisters and whether they are married, family type and native place. This is the section most often left thin and the one families most often ring about.
A few lines about yourself
Three or four sentences, not an essay. What you do with your time, how you would describe the life you want. This is the only part of the document that sounds like a person rather than a form.
Photographs
One plain, recent, front-facing photo leads the document; one or two more can follow. Not a group shot cropped down, and not one from four years ago.
Marriage biodata for a girl and for a boy
This is the most common question asked about biodata, and it has a shorter answer than the internet suggests.
The format is the same
There is no separate structure for a girl's biodata and a boy's. Same sections and order, across one or two pages depending on the details and photos.
What differs is what gets asked
By convention families press harder on education and family background for a girl, and on income and job stability for a boy. You are not obliged to answer in either direction, but knowing which questions are coming helps you decide what to put in writing and what to leave for a conversation.
You don't need to mention complexion
Skin tone appears on a great many biodata templates written for women. It is entirely your choice — but a clear recent photograph already shows it, so most families today prefer to leave the line off and keep the focus on background, education and family. This tool has no field for it, to keep the sheet to what matters.
Height, honestly
It is one of the few numbers almost everyone checks, and one of the most commonly rounded. A figure that does not survive the first meeting costs more than the two centimetres were worth.
What weakens a biodata
- Leaving labelled blanks in. An empty field reads as something withheld — cut the row instead. This tool drops them for you.
- Writing a paragraph where a fact belongs. A biodata is a fact sheet with a short introduction, not a personal statement.
- Putting a full residential address on a document you will send to strangers. A city is enough until things are serious.
- Sending a photograph of a printed page. Export the PDF or high-resolution PNG images instead — they stay sharp on a phone.
- Using the same biodata for a year. Update the job, the city and the photo before each new set of introductions.
- Sending a Word file. It re-flows differently on every device, and the layout you checked is not the one they open.
Common questions about marriage biodata
How many pages should a marriage biodata be?
One or two. This generator keeps every format within two A4 pages and uses larger type so the details are readable when printed. Photos or longer descriptions may use the second page.
What is the difference between a marriage biodata and a resume?
A resume argues that you can do a job. A biodata states who you are and where you come from, and it includes family, community and personal details that would be irrelevant — and in many countries unlawful — on a job application. The overlap is only education and occupation, and even those are stated plainly rather than sold.
Should I put my salary on a marriage biodata?
It is conventional in India, and it is optional. A range rather than a figure is normal and answers the question without turning the document into a negotiation. If you would rather not state it at all, leave it out — this tool drops empty fields rather than printing a blank line that draws attention to the omission.
What photo should I use?
A recent one, taken in daylight, facing the camera, with a plain background and no sunglasses. Formal or smart-casual dress, and no one else in the frame. A cropped group photograph is obvious and reads as though there was nothing better to hand.
Do I need gothra, rashi and nakshatra?
Only if horoscopes will be matched. Gothra is asked in the religious-background section because it is used across many communities. Rashi and nakshatra are not asked — they follow from an exact birth time and belong to the kundli, a separate document, so copying them onto a biodata helps no one who wants the real thing. For a Hindu biodata the optional Horoscope step keeps to what families actually exchange first: place of birth, time of birth and manglik. Leave it blank if horoscopes will not be matched and nothing is printed.
Can I make a marriage biodata in Hindi, Marathi or Tamil?
Not yet — the generator and the PDF it produces are in English. Indian-language text typed into the fields will not render correctly in the downloaded file, so it is better to write in English for now. Mother tongue is a field of its own, so you can state the language you speak without writing the document in it.
Should I mention a divorce or a second marriage?
Yes. Marital status is one of the first things checked and one of the worst things to be discovered later. State it plainly in the status field and leave the explanation for a conversation — a biodata is not the place to make a case, and a plain statement reads far better than a paragraph defending one.
Is this really free, and is there a watermark?
Free, no sign-up to download, and no watermark. The document has a small MatchMan wordmark and footer, but no payment prompt or degraded export.
Do you keep what I type, or my photographs?
Downloading a PDF or images does not save your details or photos on our server. They are used to build the document and then discarded. If you choose to turn the biodata into a MatchMan profile, your answers are saved so they can be carried across; an unclaimed draft is deleted within a week.
Word or PDF?
PDF, for sending. A Word file re-flows according to the fonts and margins on the machine that opens it, so the version a family sees is not the one you checked — a photo lands on page two, a section splits in half. A PDF looks the same everywhere, which on a document you cannot be present to explain is the whole point.
Can I change it later?
Edit the form and download a fresh PDF or set of images. If you make a MatchMan profile from it, the details are saved and can be edited there; a new PDF can be produced from the profile whenever something changes.
Can I download my marriage biodata as images?
Yes. Choose Download PNG images. Each biodata page becomes a high-resolution PNG, and the pages download together in one ZIP file. The images match the PDF layout.
How do I write the 'about myself' section?
Three or four honest sentences, not an essay. Say what you do with your time, a hobby or two, and the kind of life and partner you are hoping for. Write as a person, not a form — this is the one part of the document that sounds like you. Skip clichés like 'simple and homely'; something specific is remembered, something generic is skipped.
Can I make a biodata for my son or daughter?
Yes — most biodata are made by parents, and the first question the tool asks is who it is for. Pick 'my son or daughter', and every field and heading rewrites itself to describe them while your own name stays on the account. It is built to be easy to fill on a phone, step by step.
Is this biodata maker easy to use for elderly parents?
That is who it is built for. It asks one short step at a time with large text and plain guidance under each field, saves your progress in the browser so nothing is lost if you stop, and lets you skip anything optional. There is a 'see a sample' button at every step so you can see what you are making.
One page, then the harder part
A biodata gets you introductions. Whether the introductions are any good depends on where you send it. On MatchMan your contact details stay hidden until interest is mutual, and are shared free when it is — the part most sites charge for. Once you connect, chat is free too.
